Consulate-General of Japan

Canton.

April 30th, 1940.

Sir and dear Colleague,

With reference to your letter of 18th April 1940, requesting agreement to the sailings of the 8.8. "Fatshan" between Hongkong and Canton during the month of May 1940, I have the honour to inform you that the Japanese Authorities in Canton have no objection to the said sailings.

Concerning your request to allow the steamer to moor at the West Bund harf, I beg to state that, although the authorities concerned are endeavouring to meet your request, they cannot as yet agree as the time is still inopportune.

I have, tc. (sgd.) NAČAO KITA

Consul General.

V. S. Toller, Esquire,

H.B.M. Consul General

Canton.
